Waikato based SummerGlow Apiaries is backing a unique and important opportunity for the Unique Manuka Factor Honey Association (UMFHA) to showcase their world leading science.
The UMF Honey Association has accepted an invite to present facts and information of its important and ground breaking Manuka ID science programme at the China Bee Products Industry Conference 2016.

This event will be attended by many prominent industry figures, academics and leaders. “This is a exclusive and significant occasion to show the world leading science programme that The UMF Honey Association has been working on,” says James Jeffery, co-owner and director of SummerGlow Apiaries in Te Kowhai, Hamilton.

Taking place from 15-16 March in Chengdu China, and organised by the China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuffs and Native Produce, this China Bee Products Industry Conference is a prestigious and significant event that is highly regarded internationally by those operating in the bee products industry.

Speaking about the key decision-makers, regulatory bodies and influencers, will be Analytica Laboratories executive director Dr Terry Braggins and the Association’s Administrator John Rawcliffe.

The UMF Honey Association will also be displaying the science behind the Manuka Classification system and specifying how the signature compounds, including Leptosperin, will change how Manuka Honey is tested. “It will be help revolutionise the industry by providing robust international testing of genuine Manuka Honey,” adds James.

Also to be showcased at the event is the Manuka Indicator fluorescence unit developed to test for the presence of Leptosperin in Manuka Honey products.
